TESTS have confirmed that a dog who was found neglected on Oldham's streets has a serious skin condition.
Pennine Pen Animal Rescue who took Kenny the abandoned dog into their care received confirmation that he is suffering from sarcoptic mange.
The highly contagious skin disease, caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite, will cause intense itching and hair loss.
Pennine Pen, of Oldham, said in an update on his progress: "He will continue his treatment and have more skin scrapes in a few weeks to check if the treatment has worked or if he needs more.
"This could have all been prevented by regular treatment.
"Kenny's skin is looking so much better but he is still very itchy.
"He has found his voice and now barks at us to hurry up with his meals.
"I think the fame has got to his head."
Kenny, a type of mastiff, has found fame after his story went nationwide.
