Appeal after robbery

POLICE are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a man with a sawn-off shotgun robbed a bookmakers.
At about 8.15pm on January 21, a man went into a bookmakers on Chadderton shopping precinct, pulled a double-barrelled sawn-off shotgun from a distinctive plastic bag and used it to threaten the staff member and a customer.
The staff member was forced to open the till and safe and the thief fled with cash. The man was Asian or black, aged about 21, of heavy build, wearing a black jacket and black balaclava.
