Man hurt in pub brawl

A MAN was taken to hospital with a two-inch wound after being struck on the head outside a Failsworth pub.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident at the Mare and Foal pub, on Ashton Road West.
A group of about 30 men were fighting with bottles and bats outside as the 26-year-old man left the pub at around 10.20pm.
The man was struck on the head from behind and fell to the ground as he tried to avoid the group. He was then kicked in his body.
He was taken to hospital where he was treated for a two-inch wound to the top right of his head and another wound inside his mouth.
Police urged anyone with information about the incident on Sunday, February 26 to come forward.
DC Nichola Chapman of Greater Manchester Police's Oldham Borough said: "An innocent man was attacked, despite trying to avoid the group.
"I would appeal to anyone who saw the fight or has information about who was involved to come forward."
