A REPORT has found four areas for improvement at Glodwick Health Centre after a CQC visit.

The health centre in Glodwick Road has provided urology, continence and stoma services from Oldham Integrated Care Centre since 2013, and gynaecology and cardiology services since November, 2016.

The Care Quality Commission carried out an announced inspection in February this year followed by an unannounced inspection in March.

While the body regulates independent community adults and children's services it does not currently have a legal duty to rate them.

Highlighting good practice at Glodwick Health Centre in their June report, inspectors said: "We found there were systems in place to keep people safe and learn from incidents."

However, the CQC also identified six areas of improvement at the centre, which is operated by Lancaster House Diagnostics and Surgical Services Ltd.

Concerns were raised over governance processes, inconsistent patient records and information leaflets not being available in "suitable form" for those who are blind or partially sighted as well as for those speaking different languages.

The CQC said: "Some provider documentation in relation to care and treatment was inconsistent with no version control, start date or review date.

"Not all substantive staff had access to policies and procedures to perform their job. Not all staff had completed mandatory training."

They added: "Following this inspection, we told the provider that it must take some actions to comply with the regulations and should make other improvements."
