HAVING a slime time . . . Jasmin Goodall (left) and Anya Fotheringham
TWO enterprising youngsters are putting a modern twist on the old adage where there's muck there's brass.
Instead, Jasmin Goodall and Anya Fotheringham are proving that where there's slime there's sales thanks to a fun science project.
The Year 5 classmates have been making and selling stretchy slime to fellow pupils at Holy Rosary RC Primary School in Fitton Hill.
Their concoction - which includes glue, baking soda, baby oil and food colouring - is proving such a hit that sales are booming. It sells for £1 a go and the pair have so far made £40 in aid of the local animal charity Pennine Pen. The 10-year-olds, who both enjoy science, found the slime recipe on YouTube and have customised it with additions such as glitter and polystyrene balls.
Jasmin said: "We just wanted to have some fun then people starting asking for it so we started selling it."
Their teacher Jodi Strange added: "It's proving very popular and the pupils like to play with it at break time."
Jasmin and Anya's success has also inspired other entrepreneurial pupils - with one now knitting and selling hair bobbles.
Mrs Strange added: "It's good to see them being entrepreneurial."
