Fitton Hill’s new neighbourhood centre
A £2 million neighbourhood centre for Fitton Hill residents opens its doors today.
The new venue, next to Medlock Valley Primary School, Fircroft Road, will be a base for a state-of the-art library and youth centre.
The venue boasts a central open area with a coffee bar, dance and activity room, computer access and an arts and crafts room.
Young people can enjoy their own space, accessible from both sides of the building for watching films, reading books, playing games and other activities. A wide-ranging selection of books, ebooks, CDs and DVDs is available from the library, as are board games, toys and soft-play activities for younger children.
The youth centre will be open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. For a full programme of events log on to www.gooldham.com/.
