TALENTED Oldham College students showed off their work at their end of year exhibition.
Nearly 60 students on the foundation diploma in art and design wowed visitors with their final projects, which they took 10 weeks to complete and count towards their final grade.
The event was part of a series of exhibitions over three weeks showcasing the work of more than 200 students on courses ranging from 3D design, digital illustration and games design to fine art, photography and fashion design.
Those taking part in the art and design exhibition included 25-year-old Chris Howarth, from Shaw, whose piece “Mechanical Beauty” is a comment on plastic surgery and media perceptions of beauty.
He completed his course while working part-time at a call centre and will now do a degree in fashion design technology: womenswear at the London College of Fashion.
“I have always loved art but I never pursued it. I just got to the point where I wanted to get back to it,” he explained.
“I am looking forward to studying in London. It’s a big city and I will be meeting lots of new people. It will be amazing.”
