PROUD dad Neil Fotheringham and his daughter Anya with her sponsorship form.
A seven-year-old girl set up her own fundraising fun run and created a handmade sponsorship form to raise money for a cancer hospital.
Anya Fotheringham, from Hathershaw asked her family and friends for donations to the Weston Park Cancer Hospital in Sheffield, where her grandmother is receiving treatment.
In return for donations, Anya pledged to run around her local green as many times as she could.
Anya said: “My grandma is being treated for liver cancer in Weston Park Hospital and I want to raise money for them so they can help her and other people with cancer get better.”
The Holy Rosary RC Primary school pupil had originally hoped to raise £30 for the charity, but she was astonished when donations hit £280 when she completed the challenge and managed 13 laps - about a mile.
Proud dad Neil said: “It fills me with immense pride that a girl so young can think of and want to do something so selfless.
“I’m the proudest dad on the planet right now and I wanted to let as many people as possible hear about what she is doing.”
