ALL smiles . . . Jayne Nadin on her Happiness is Homemade stall
STALLS filled with vintage treasures attracted crowds to Oldham’s Vintage Market on Saturday.
Yorkshire Street buzzed with over 30 stalls filled with jewellery, clothing, books, furniture and art, with stall holders coming from across Oldham and further afield.
Organiser Mick Harwood, of Scoots Suits and Boots on Yorkshire Street, said: “We wanted to change the image of Yorkshire Street into something positive and make people want to come here. We were fed up of people saying it was rubbish and that there was nothing to do in Oldham, so we did something about it.
“With the launch of the independent quarter, we thought we could make Yorkshire Street a destination for all things quirky and interesting, and the idea of a Vintage Market grew from there.”
Visitors were impressed by the market, which featured live music and entertainment.
