BRITAIN’S most successful Paralympian helped to make sure the new school year started on a high at Hathershaw College.
Dame Sarah Storey has won 11 gold, eight silver and three bronze medals in six Paralympic games — 16 as a swimmer, before switching to cycling.
She shared her memories and the secret of her success — including winning four golds at the London 2012 Paralympics — during a speech to staff at the Bellfield Avenue School.
