A NEW COACH has brought excitement to a little boy and his football-mad team mates.
And not a football coach but one owned by local firm Yelloway Coaches, which will carry the face and name of Chadderton Park Cerebral Palsy player Lucas Town all over the country in his role as an ambassador for his favourite sport.
The Chadderton-based company has been a firm supporter of the club for years and wanted to mark the link
Bosses chose Lucas - who travels from Huddersfield to play at Chadderton Park every week - to adorn their new coach. They also put club information and session times on the back of another.
Overjoyed Lucas officially launched his namesake coach with a bottle of bubbly with Yelloway MD Mark Brook, who sponsors the talented team.
“We are proud to support team,” said Mark. “It was a pleasure to meet Lucas, who might be only nine but is a confident, charismatic young man with plenty of enthusiasm. He did us proud by accepting our invitation to launch the newest addition to our fleet.”
Chadderton Park Sports Club secretary Craig Simpson said: “The support the team receives from Yelloway is amazing. It has really touched the children’s hearts.”
