GROUNDED! The bus was stuck for hours.
DRAMA came to a busy main road linking Saddleworth to Huddersfield yesterday when this double-deck 184 bus heading to Diggle got stuck for more than four hours when its chassis grounded.
The incident happened at the junction with a side road leading to Diggle village.
A local resident said: “I heard a loud bang and saw the bus stuck partially across the main highway.”
A spokesman for First Bus said: “We attended and supported the driver and the release of the bus shortly before 6pm. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
Buses were diverted along Huddersfield Road.
