Police hunt driver who fled scene

DASH-CAM footage captured the moment a young driver lost control of his car and ploughed straight into a bollard near Oldham Sixth Form College before fleeing.
The smash saw the Audi A3 flatten the bollard outside St Patrick’s RC church on Monday afternoon.
The driver fled the scene and tried to take the licence plates from the car. He has been described as looking as young as 17, and had four passengers who appeared even younger.
The footage, taken by another motorist, shows the white car driving close up behind a black Volkswagen Golf through Oldham town centre.
Both cars passed through traffic lights before eyewitnesses said they drove at speed around a right-hand bend in the road. The driver lost control, mounted the pavement and crashed into the bollard. Police are investigating.
