Driver flees after hitting tram

A POLICE investigation is under way after a van driver ran off following a collision between his Citroen Despatch and a Metrolink tram at Oldham’s Manchester Street roundabout.
Two Metrolink passengers suffered minor injuries in the incident shortly before 10pm yesterday.
There was damage to the front of the tram as a result of the impact.
Police reports say the van driver failed to stop at a red light.
