CAN you help solve the mystery of this medal which was awarded in the 1930s?
David Brooks inherited it from his father who lived in Chadderton and died in 1967.
The front has a crest with three Oldham owls and three roses while the back is engraved "Boys Champ Oldham & Dist 1934" and is hallmarked.
Mr Brooks, who lives in Newton-le-Willows, does not think that was his father's as he would have been in his twenties when it was awarded, although it could have belonged to one of his brothers.
He is trying to find out who it was given to and what for. Contact him at oldham expat@gmail.com.
