The Oldham Freecycle Group

Intro

The Oldham Freecycle (R) webgroup gives you the opportunity to re-home unwanted items whilst also picking up items that you may need, free of charge.

Freecycle is a non-profit organisation open to all which began in 2003 and currently has around 6,091,000 members.

The Freecycle mission is ‘to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources and eases the burden on our landfills, while enabling members to benefit from the strength of a larger community’.

How does it work?

First, you need to join the register on the site. Then, when you want to find a new home for one of your belongings, be it a chair, lampshade or a picture frame, you send an email to the members of the group, offering your item. When you have a response, you arrange a collection time and then say goodbye to your unwanted goods.

If you see something you’re looking for being offered by another member, respond quickly to their emails and it may be yours.

Individuals, commuity groups, charities and companies are welcome to join!

Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
