SAVES . . . Connor Ripley
SWINDON 0, ATHLETIC 0
ATHLETIC took a hard-earned point after sustaining a first-half barrage at the County Ground.
Connor Ripley had to make several saves as Swindon – entering this game on the back of five straight defeats – started impressively.
Nicky Ajose extended Ripley twice and Jon Obika might have done better than direct a header wide, while at the other end right on half-time Aiden O'Neill sliced a volley wide when well-placed after goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux had got fingertips to a Ryan McLaughlin cross.
Athletic improved after the interval and got a grip on midfield, albeit without carving out anything clear-cut.
Ajose volleyed over the top when well-placed and at the death, Ben Gladwin spun but could not keep his shot down as John Sheridan's men claimed a useful draw.
