LATICS LEGEND . . . Gordon Lawton
ATHLETIC legend Gordon Lawton has died, aged 63.
Lawton, the club's football secretary, started work at Boundary Park in 1986 when setting up a lottery in the commercial department.
He later held a number of positions at the club, including programme editor, club commentator and more recently media manager.
Known to many as 'the voice of Oldham Athletic,' Lawton was a familiar face to many.
He recently hung up his microphone after 23 years of unique commentary to concentrate fully on his new role as football secretary.
