CHRIS TAYLOR displays his all-action style of football.
CHRIS TAYLOR has proved to be Athletic’s most consistent performer in the first half of the season.
The flying winger’s dazzling displays have earned him seven ‘Chronicle Star Man’ awards and confirmed his status as the hottest property at Boundary Park.
Taylor, who has scored eight goals for Athletic, also had the distinction of winning the award in three consecutive matches in September and October against Hartlepool, Huddersfield and Stockport.
Lee Hughes and Sean Gregan are the nearest challengers to Taylor with four awards each.
Hughes tops the club’s scoring charts with 13 goals, while Gregan has put his off-the-field troubles behind him with some solid defensive displays.
Last season’s ‘Chronicle Star Man’ winner Mark Allott has some way to go if he is to retain his crown. He has two votes so far.
A total of 12 players have been named ‘Star Man’ and the complete list reads: Taylor 7, Gregan 4, Hughes 4, Allott 2, Crossley 2, Hazell 2, Jones 2, Whitaker 2, Alessandra 1, Fleming 1, Liddell 1, Smalley 1.
The ‘Chronicle Star Man’ is presented in association with award sponsors Leesfield Developments.
It is worth £600 to the winner, who will donate the prize to a charity of his choice.
