Daniel Jones: Keen to get going again at Boundary Park.
DANIEL JONES is relishing a return to Boundary Park to help Athletic in their pursuit of promotion from Coca-Cola League One.
The 22-year-old Wolves player completed a second loan move of the season to Boundary Park minutes before the close of the transfer window.
Jones, who made 14 appearances in his initial spell, said: “I wanted to come back from the minute Wolves told me about the possibility of a deal.
“I enjoyed my first loan spell and, as far as I am concerned, Oldham are one of the best sides in the division. I’m looking forward to the challenge.
“I cannot wait to get going again and I’m looking forward to coming back to Boundary Park and helping in the push for promotion.”
Jones damaged ankle ligaments at Peterborough in mid-December, an injury which cut short his first spell at the club after 14 appearances.
He has earmarked the visit to Yeovil on February 21 as the date of his return though, ideally, he would love it a week earlier against Northampton - a club where he spent most of last season on loan.
Athletic are confident their league game at Leicester City on Saturday will beat the cold snap.
There is snow on the pitch at the Walkers Stadium though, with undersoil heating, that is expected to clear once it is switched on.
The biggest threat appears to be if there is a further heavy fall of snow which leaves the approaches to the ground in a dangerous condition.
But as the game is being televised live by Sky Sports, every effort will be made to get it played.
Athletic have rearranged the home game against Bristol Rovers, which was postponed on Tuesday because of snow.
The game will take place at Boundary Park on Tuesday, February 24 (7.45).
That means it will be a hectic time for Rovers who have seven games in a 21-day spell starting this Saturday.
