OLDHAM Athletic have fined one player a maximum two weeks' wages following their 'Belle Vue' investigations.
Two others have been severely censured and warned as to their future conduct after incidents at the club's own dog's night last week.
Reports at the time suggested that Sean Gregan was involved in unsavoury incidents while Lee Hughes and manager John Sheridan were also invovled in angry exchanges.
The club had not ruled out sackings as they investigated the claims but their statement today said:
"Investigations into the reported incidents at Belle Vue dog track on Tuesday, March 3 have now been concluded.
"Latics' directors have viewed CCTV coverage of the night, taken statements from staff at Belle Vue and spoken with club staff and players who were in attendance at the event.
"From the evidence that the club has gathered it is apparent that reports carried in the media have been exaggerated.
"There is no evidence to suggest that any player or staff member was involved in fighting, however the directors were disappointed with some of the behaviour during what was an official club function.
"The outcome of the investigation, after taking legal advice, is that one player has been fined the maximum amouint of two weeks' wages and two others have been severely censured and warned as to their future conduct.
"The directors now consider this matter closed and hope everyone - fans, players and management - can move forward in our quest for promotion.
