ATHLETIC are one of 41 clubs to be awarded the ‘Football League Family Excellence Award’ for 2008/09.
The award recognises the matchday experience young fans and families gain at games in the Coca-Cola Championship, League One and Two.
Researchers look at factors such as the ease in which tickets can be booked, car parking, club shop, refreshments and stewarding.
Chief executive Alan Hardy is delighted Athletic have received the honour.
He said: “The award is for everyone at the club, from the ticket-office staff to the stewards who work hard to make the matchday experience at Boundary Park a memorable one.”
* ATHLETIC are in line for another honour at Sunday’s Football League Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
They are one of five clubs to be shortlisted for the League One Community Club Of The Year.
