Steve Kabba takes the full force of MK Dons Miguel Leera's challange.
ON-LOAN Steven Kabba is happy to be a wanted man at Athletic after being told he had no future at Watford.
The 28-year-old striker, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Blackpool, said: “I didn’t play much last season under Watford’s previous manager Aidy Boothroyd and this time they made it clear I wasn’t going to play for them again.
“It started well at Blackpool where I scored goals, but then I picked up an injury, never recaptured my form and the move petered out.
“There was interest from other clubs in League One, but they didn’t show the same desire as Oldham did.
“Oldham are pushing for promotion and obviously I wanted to go to a club where the football is meaningful.”
Kabba is confident he can forge a successful strike partnership with Lee Hughes.
“I know he will get goals and it is a case of me trying to link up with him,” he said.
