ATHLETIC’S golden oldies confront five Premier League clubs in the Screwfix North-West Masters Cup at the Manchester Arena a week tomorrow.
The over-35s indoor six-a-side competition sees Athletic up against both Manchester clubs, as well as Bolton, Blackburn and Burnley.
Athletic, who made their Masters debut last summer, have assembled a strong team, comprising Andy Rhodes, Mike Flynn, Darren Sheridan, David Eyres, Mike Milligan, Lee Duxbury, Tommy Wright, Andy Liddell and Andy Ritchie.
Former Athletic players Simon Charlton (Bolton) and Lee Richardson (Blackburn) will also be in action.
Manchester United call upon the likes of Lee Sharpe and Andrei Kanchelskis, while City hope to have Gheorgi Kindladze in their line up providing he can obtain a visa to enter the country.
