O’Grady at the double

PARK LIFE: CHRIS O’Grady’s superb goal scoring streak shows no sign of grinding to a halt.
The on-loan striker netted twice for Rochdale in a thumping 4-0 defeat of Shrewsbury on Saturday – his 10th and 11th goals of the season for the Spotland outfit and his fourth and fifth in the last five matches.
It is little wonder, then, that Dale boss Keith Hill is so keen for his board to provide the funds necessary to snare the former Rotherham striker on a permanent basis.
However, O’Grady remains on course to come back to Athletic on January 16 when his long-term loan spell draws to a close.
Until that point, Football League rules prevent O’Grady from being recalled by his parent club.
“We sent him out to get games and at this moment in time he is coming back.
“Hopefully he can score for us,” said Athletic boss Dave Penney after hearing of the 23-year-old’s latest efforts for Rochdale.
