WILL HAINING was a familiar name in an experienced Morecambe reserves line-up who saw off a callow Athletic side 4-0 at Ewen Fields on Tuesday night.
Two goals in the first half from David Artell and a pair from Wayne Curtis after the break sealed the win for the visitors, who were up against an Athletic side containing only two players — Chris Rowney and Djeny Bembo-Leta — with any first-team experience.
ATHLETIC: Ollerenshaw; McKerr, Esdaile-Biney (Cowan), Ojapah, Steer; Rowney, Bembo-Leta, McCall, McGrath; Crompton (Lysons), Eaves (Rose). Subs (not used): White, Zaicevs.
