GILLINGHAM boss Mark Stimson is targeting two wins inside three days to lift his side out of trouble.

Currently level on 40 points with Athletic but two places higher in the League One table thanks to a slightly-superior goal difference, the Gills follow up their visit to Boundary Park on Saturday with another relegation battle against Southend at Priestfield on Easter Monday.

Stimson's side is the only Football League club yet to record an away win this season.

PROMISING youth team player Andrew Crompton was on target with an 18-yard strike as Athletic reserves lost 2-1 against Preston North End at Hyde United’s Ewen Fields ground on Monday.

The totesport.com League Cup semi-final against the same opposition, due to be played yesterday, was called off due to the Bamber Bridge pitch being waterlogged.

Athletic’s youth team were without a game at the weekend, having been down to play Chester City before their withdrawal from the Football League Youth Alliance.

Tony Philliskirk's side are back in action on Saturday when they take on Tranmere Rovers away from home.
