RYAN Brooke: Latics contract
RYAN Brooke has committed his future to Athletic.
The 19-year-old striker, who has been given sporadic bouts of first-team action in a frustrating season, has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal which runs until the summer of 2012.
Brooke scored only once in 2009-10, heading home an equaliser as Athletic drew 2-2 at home with Colchester.
But of his 17 appearances, only two were in the starting line-up and he slipped out of favour in the latter half of the season.
Brooke is now set to work hard on developing physically during the summer in order to try to get a run of games next term.
Athletic are expected to announce further singings of out-of-contract players soon, with first-team men Paul Black and Kieran Lee both reaching the end of their current deals.
