PAUL Dickov has completed his first signing as Athletic manager after ex-Manchester United midfielder Ritchie Jones put pen to paper on a two-year contract.
Jones (23) was released by npower League One rivals Hartlepool United in the summer after coming to the end of a two-year deal.
Dickov said: “I am delighted as he fits the bill in what I want.
“He has a lot of experience, but he is also young, hungry to succeed, has a good work ethic and attitude.”
Jones had loan spells at United’s Belgium-feeder club Royal Antwerp, Colchester, Barnsley and Yeovil before joining Hartlepool in June 2008.
He has played for England at every level from under-15 to 20, and helped his country reach the final of the European Under-19 Championships in 2005.
