Six-month contract for Jarrett

ATHLETIC have snapped up trialist Jason Jarrett on a six-month contract following an impressive pre-season.

The midfielder (30) has been a free agent since leaving Port Vale in December 2009. He has deputised for injured Athletic skipper Sean Gregan at the heart of the defence.

Boss Paul Dickov said: “Jason has been fantastic since joining us initially on trial. I cannot speak highly enough of Jason’s attitude, ability and fitness which is all you can ask for from a player.”
