Athletic's New Signing Rodrigue Dikaba
ATHLETIC have snapped up Congo DR international Rodrigue Dikaba.
Right-back Dikaba (24) has earned a short-term deal after impressing boss Paul Dickov in training over the last three weeks and goes straight into tomorrow’s squad to face Charlton at The Valley.
Should he do well at Boundary Park, Athletic may extend his contract to the end of the season.
Dikaba has been a free agent since his release from Romanian Liga One outfit FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt in the summer.
Born in Toulouse, France, he was given his solitary cap for the Congo DR national side against Gabon two years ago.
Dikaba will be hoping an extended run of first team football can lead to a recall.
Chief Executive Alan Hardy said: “Rodrigue has been on trial at the club and has done well in training over the last few weeks.
“Paul has decided to take him on a short-term deal, with a view to something longer if he does well.
“He can play at right full-back and also on the right side of midfield. He is an international and will hopefully turn out to be a good signing.”
