Wait goes on for fed-up Philliskirk

ATHLETIC youth team boss Tony Philliskirk is STILL awaiting international clearance for three of his bright young prospects.
Northern Ireland duo Carl Winchester and Ryan Burns and Danny Bell of Wales cannot play in the Youth Alliance until the necessary paperwork is complete.
The process has already dragged on for two months. FIFA finally granted clearance last week and the club are now awaiting counter-signatures from the relevant associations.
Philliskirk described the waiting game as a “nightmare” and it has impacted on the effectiveness of his squad.
Athletic’s youngsters drew 1-1 at Accrington at the weekend, producing a disjointed display.
The game was goalless at half-time and the opening strike came from the visitors.
Kyle Riley released Jack Laird and the Liverpool-born striker produced a smart finish to beat the ’keeper.
But Accrington replied within 10 minutes with a goal that came about from a long, hopeful ball.
