BRISTOL Rovers face a race against time to bring Mikkel Andersen to Boundary Park for tomorrow’s game, writes MATTHEW CHAMBERS.
The goalkeeper is on loan from Reading, and his agreement with the Pirates has been extended until the January transfer window.
Andersen was down to play for Denmark’s under-21s side against Lithuania in a friendly at Aarhus today.
That match kicked off at noon, UK time, leaving open the chance of Andersen returning to these shores in time for the npower League One clash.
Striker John Akinde could play up front for Paul Trollope’s side, having secured a rare cross-city transfer from Bristol City.
Jo Kuffour, a scorer in Rovers’ 2-1 defeat away to Athletic last season, will be expected to provide the goals along with the big summer signing, former Rotherham and Watford striker Will Hoskins, as the Pirates bid to climb away from their current position of 19th in the table.
