LEWIS Alessandra embarks on his playing comeback tonight as Athletic’s reserves take on Bury at Stalybridge (7pm kick-off).
A calf tear stalled what had been a highly promising opening to the season for the 21-year-old, who had been impressing in a wide left role in the first three games of the season.
Unlucky Alessandra has since lost his place in the side to in-form Chris Taylor and he will hope to catch the eye in what is likely to be an abbreviated showing tonight.
Also in the line-up for reserves boss Lee Duxbury is Athletic captain Sean Gregan. Deane Smalley and Djeny Bembo-Leta, who have both played for the first team this season, get some game time as well, as do triallists Julian Cherel and Paris Cowan-Hall.
