We’ll put things right — Lee

Kieran Lee . . . held up his hands to a mistake in Posh clash.
ATHLETIC players admitted to individual mistakes in the aftermath of the 5-2 defeat at Peterborough.
Post-game talks between the team both in the dressing rooms and out on the field took place in order to get to the bottom of the defensive deficiencies which helped fired-up Posh smash home five goals without reply.
It was far from an awful performance as a whole by Athletic, who will be pleased at least with the jitters they provided for a very able Peterborough side in the first half at London Road.
Right-back Kieran Lee set up the second Athletic goal and had an excellent game, other than for one howler which saw George Boyd rob him of possession before slamming home Peterborough’s third.
And the former Manchester United man hopes that the team can work out how to put things right in time for the visit of in-form Bournemouth to Boundary Park on Saturday.
“After the start we had in the first half, I don’t know what happened after that,” said Lee, pinpointed by manager Paul Dickov as one of the team’s star performers so far this season alongside Dean Furman.
“We lost concentration and made individual mistakes and it cost us, really.
“We needed to keep them out before half-time, didn’t, and from there it just went downhill.
“We came to Peterborough believing we could win. At 2-0 up, we still believed that we could win. But it just didn’t work out.
“They have good players, but a lot of what happened was down to us. There were a lot of mistakes by our players, including myself.
“I stick my hands up and a couple of other lads have done the same. e just have to learn from it. We will look at what happened on the DVD, put it right in training and hopefully it won’t happen again.”
The defeat leaves Athletic with a record of two wins, three draws and one loss in npower League One.
Dickov’s men would leapfrog the Cherries, flying high in third after promotion from League Two, by beating them on Saturday.
