GOING FOR GOAL: Jean-Yves Moto tries his luck as Athletic push for a late winner.
FURIOUS Athletic boss Paul Dickov bemoaned the lack of concentration which saw two points lost to yet another goal scored from a corner.
Substitute Scott McGleish pounced to poke home Charlie Daniels’ delivery with 12 minutes remaining.
In recent weeks Athletic have conceded from a corner at Peterborough and two at Brighton and Hove Albion.
Dickov said: “We should have had three points. We found ourselves 1-0 up without having played particularly well.
“But we shipped a goal from a set piece. They (the players) know what they have to do.
“We work on it, and work on it and work on it. They are reminded of it during the week and on matchday, we are on at them all the time, and I am angry.
“When you are not playing very well and you do not take your chances, the most important thing is to not concede, but we did.
“I am upset because it has happened again — sooner or later the penny has to drop.
“It is definitely a case of two points lost, because apart from that shot their lad had from 40 or 50 yards out, our goalkeeper did not have much to do.
“With 10 games gone we have lost twice. We are obviously a hard team to beat, but we would be even harder to beat if we did the basic things right at the back.
“The beauty of football is, there is always another game just around the corner.
“We face Brentford next which will be tough, but as I keep saying, when we do the ugly things correctly we are a good side, when we don’t we struggle.”
Dickov said Jason Jarrett, who limped off with a hamstring strain, should be fit for the next match.
The Scot also praised the performance of centre back Jean-Yves Mvoto, adding: “Jean was excellent again.
“He was also a big threat when we sent him up front at the end. He got in a fantastic header and also had a shot well saved.”
Dickov also rued the fact his side didn’t produce more of the movement on display for Chris Taylor’s goal.
“It was a nice move, but we should have done it more often,” he said.
“It was one of the few times we managed to string a lot of passes together.
“We will go back on to the training ground and work hard at eradicating the mistakes.
“The players have had all the praise in the world, but when mistakes are made, I have to let them know.”
