FOUR Athletic players have turned down loan moves away from Boundary Park.
Chairman Simon Corney spoke of the difficulty of reducing the number of professionals on the books, which currently stands at 34.
Despite being offered moves elsewhere, a quartet of players opted to remain at the club instead of moving to League two or the Blue Square Premier.
“We have been trying to get players out but they don’t want to go,” Corney said.
“They are under contract so there is nothing we can do, but it is not helping us.”
Jon Worthington, Rob Purdie, Joe Jacobson, Greg Fleming and Kelvin Lomax are all currently on the transfer list at the club.
REUBEN Hazell finds out the result of a scan on his knee today, with the early indications being that the problem is not as bad as the player feared.
WARREN Feeney played 50 minutes for Northern Ireland in their disappointing 1-1 draw with the Faroe Islands last night.
ATHLETIC have agreed to Exeter’s request to bring forward their clash 24 hours to Good Friday, April 23 (3pm kick-off).
