Fleetwood move for Worthington

JON WORTHINGTON . . . one-month loan deal.
JON Worthington has left Athletic to join Fleetwood Town on loan.
The midfielder was put on the transfer list before the start of the season by manager Paul Dickov and has not featured in a single first-team game since.
A former Huddersfield Town player, who operates as a tough-tackling midfielder, Worthington suffered a serious ankle injury which ruled him out for much of last season following his arrival.
And though back at full fitness, the 27-year-old has been unable to work his way into Dickov’s plans.
Links to other league clubs came to nothing and Worthington will now join up with former Athletic captain Sean Gregan at the ambitious Blue Square Bet Premier outfit, who are fourth in the standings.
Worthington will remain at the Fylde coast club until January 3.
The switch leaves Athletic’s only transfer-listed players still at the club as Joe Jacobson and Greg Fleming.
