Wing wizard in contract talks

ATHLETIC are in talks to keep winger Filipe Morais until the end of the season.
The Portuguese schemer, who made such a good impression in the recent victory over Huddersfield Town, is currently on non-contract terms at Boundary Park.
Morais is serving a three-match ban after being sent off in the reserves, but will hope his lively display against the Terriers was enough to keep him in the first-team picture upon his return.
Athletic chief executive Alan Hardy said: “We are talking to Filipe and his agent with regards to extending his deal.
“The aim is to sign him until the end of the campaign.”
The transfer window for emergency loans slams shut at 5pm tomorrow, and Athletic haven’t ruled out any comings or goings.
The club still hope to find temporary homes for transfer-listed duo Greg Fleming and Joe Jacobson.
Meanwhile, a virus is doing the rounds in the Athletic squad.
“Some of the lads have been suffering from illness, which has led to a bit of fatigue,” said Hardy.
“It seems to be a virus which has spread over the last few days.”
