BBC filming in the stands at Oldham Athletic
BOUNDARY Park was turned into a film set this week as the BBC came to visit.
A new three-part drama series called 'Exile', starring Oscar-winning actor Jim Broadbent and John Simm, was filmed at the ground with 40 fans present as extras for the crowd scenes.
The series will be broadcast next spring. The story centres around Simm, of Life On Mars fame, taking his Alzheimers-suffering father Broadbent to a football match in order to jog his memory.
Scenes were shot inside and outside the ground, with a rail track set up on Furtherwood Road so that cameras could take shots on the move.
The club received an undisclosed amount for allowing the filming to take place.
