Latics boss plays it fair

BOSS Paul Dickov has said he has no immediate plans to turn out for Athletic on the pitch.
The 38-year-old has played only once this season, as a substitute against Bristol Rovers.
The demands of management have taken their toll on the ex-Manchester City and Leicester star’s ability to train as much as the rest of the squad.
Out of fairness, Dickov feels unable to name himself in front of other strikers on the club’s books.
“I don’t get the chance to train as much as I can do,” Dickov said.
“I have said before that I can’t expect my players to come in every day, train as they play and play as they train, giving everything they have got when I am not training three or four times a week and putting myself on the bench.
“It is not right and it sends out the wrong message.”
