A HANDFUL of fringe Athletic palyers are set to secure their immediate futures away from Boundary Park today.
Deane Smalley — who is out of contract in the summer — will tie up a loan deal with Chesterfield which keeps him at the League Two outfit until the end of the season.
Rob Purdie, whose loan at Hereford is up, is back in at Boundary Park to discuss his future.
Kelvin Lomax was on loan with Smalley at Chesterfield before damaging ankle
ligaments and his spell is also officially up, as is Joe Jacobson’s at Accrington. Left-back Jacobson is expected to depart once again.
Defender Andy Holdsworth, who has had his Athletic contract terminated after playing only 15 games in two years, has signed for Morecambe in League Two.
ATHLETIC’S reserves are in action on Wednesday night at Morecambe.
