Fans remain ‘fantastic’

DESPITE being slightly disappointed to see the attendance against Hartlepool slip to 3,056 last Tuesday, Athletic manager Paul Dickov has refused to criticise stay-away supporters.
“We would like to attract more fans to our home matches and we are doing everything we possibly can on that front," said Dickov, whose side subsequently drew a crowd of 4,121 for the home draw against Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.
“When I got the job I promised to build a team that would give its all win, lose or draw, and we are doing well.
“However, I am not going to have a go at the fans because they have been fantastic since day one, and they were brilliant again (against Hartlepool).”
