Athletic last night dropped another place to 14th in League One, with Rochdale's 1-0 home win over Notts County taking them above Dickov's side and up to 11th.
In-form Leyton Orient followed up their 1-0 victory over Athletic at the weekend with a victory by the same scoreline at Hartlepool, leaving Russell Slade's men five points behind sixth-placed MK Dons with three matches in hand.
At the head of the table, a last-minute Peter Clarke goal gave Huddersfield a 1-0 win at Brentford which keeps Lee Clark's side in the second automatic promotion spot.
On their shoulders, Peterborough are one point behind with a game in hand after claiming an emphatic 4-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday.
Darren Ferguson's side, who recently won 5-0 at Boundary Park, appear set to break the 100-goal barrier this season. Posh are currently on 86, with 10 matches left to play.
