Manager ‘proud’ of loyal supporters

THE LOYALTY of Athletic’s supporters has been saluted by manager Paul Dickov.
Despite the recent horror run of 12 matches without a win, there have been precious few calls for Dickov to be replaced.
And the faith of those who travelled to Notts County last week was rewarded with two late strikes which clinched a 2-0 victory.
“There is a hardcore that come home and away and they have backed me all the way,” Dickov said.
“The easy thing to do, especially with the run we have been on, would be to have a go at the manager.
“I am chuffed and proud they have stuck by us.
“A lot of fans at a lot of other clubs wouldn’t have been as patient as they have been with me and I’d like to thank them for that.
“As much as I said it was for the players on Saturday, it was fantastic to get the win for the fans.”
