RITCHIE Jones... sent home from team hotel.
ATHLETIC midfielder Ritchie Jones was sent home from the team hotel ahead of the Yeovil game, the club have confirmed.
A training ground disagreement saw the ex-Hartlepool man depart by train after finding out he wasn’t to be included in the starting line-up at Huish Park.
“The manager assembled the team on the training ground to work on set pieces and the player found out he wasn’t included,” said Athletic chief executive Alan Hardy.
“He then left the field, was asked to return on two occasions and those requests were ignored.
“The manager (Paul Dickov) then spoke to the player at the team hotel and told him we were not prepared to accept his behaviour.
“He was told to make his own way home and the coach driver dropped him off at the train station.”
Further disciplinary measures are likely.
