Bantams snap up Jones

FORMER Athletic midfielder Ritchie Jones has joined npower League Two side Bradford City on a two-year deal.

Jones (24), who was Paul Dickov’s first signing as Athletic manager last summer, was not offered a new contract at Boundary Park.

He started last season as first-choice right winger, before a combination of injuries and the impressive form of Filipe Morais and Aidy White limited his chances.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Dean Brill, who was also released by the Scot, has been linked with a move to the Bantams.


ATHLETIC supporters who buy the Gold Package for the curtain-raiser against Sheffield United on August 6 will receive the same deal later in the season for free — if the match ends goalless.
The hospitality deal includes a four-course meal, executive seating and a meet and greet with players after the game.
