FILIPE MORAIS: in tonight’s reserves’ squad.
ATHLETIC are waiting on answers on a number of fronts as attempts to strengthen the squad before Saturday's big kick-off continue.
The club are looking to bring in new men to bolster what is currently a thin squad available to manager Paul Dickov — but chief executive Alan Hardy admits it is "difficult to say" how many will ultimately put pen to paper in time for the Sheffield United test at Boundary Park.
Josh Parker, the former Queens Park Rangers forward, is back training with the club and takes his place alongside two un-named trialists in Athletic's reserves squad which travels to face Ashton United tonight (7.30pm kick-off).
A player blessed with raw pace, Parker had spells out on loan in League Two at Northampton and Wycombe last season and resumes an interrupted trial spell after returning from a stint away with the Antigua national squad.
Parker is one possible signing, while Dickov is also likely to target a striker as well as back-up further down the spine of midfield and defence.
Also in the reserves squad tonight is Filipe Morais. The winger serves the last of a three-match suspension for the opening npower League One game as a result of a sending-off against Walsall last season.
Josh Ollerenshaw, released at the end of last season, provides temporary goalkeeping back-up at the Boundary Park club.
Athletic striker Warren Feeney, meanwhile, will hold talks with Athletic officials this morning as he bids to resurrect a move to Plymouth.
