Furman’s lengthy absence

DEAN Furman should be back in contention for a place in the team in eight weeks' time — the best-case scenario prior to his knee surgery this week.
The Athletic captain, who had cartilage damage in a knee repaired, can now look to the future and a possible return at Tranmere on October 15.
"Dean is a fantastic kid and he came to me the other day to say he didn't want his operation and preferred to play through it," said Athletic boss Paul Dickov.
"I want Dean in my team. He is my captain, on and off the pitch.
"He has massive respect from all the players, but I can't be selfish on that front.
“I have got to look after what is best for Dean and battling through it wouldn't do him any favours.
"We know that when he comes back he will be absolutely flying."
