I WAS delighted to see Edin Dzeko score his third goal in as many matches in Manchester City’s 3-2 win at Bolton.
The big Bosnian has come on leaps and bounds since the start of the season, netting in the Community Shield against United and at home to Swansea before grabbing our third goal at the Reebok.
He has shown great footwork and has plenty of ability. And he looks like a man who no longer weighed down by his £27million price tag.
His latest goal came after strikes from the sublime David Silva and in-form Gareth Barry, who produced a stunning first-half effort.
Silva is a pleasure to watch. His technique is out of this world and he walked away with a second successive man-of-the-match award.
We are blessed with a very strong squad with excellent team spirit. I cannot see many sides beating us this term.
We’re off to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday for what will probably be our hardest test of the season so far.
We should be boosted by the return to fitness of key midfield man Nigel de Jong at White Hart Lane in what promises to be a great game of football.
IT was nice to see Oldham Athletic earn their first home win of the season in the 2-0 derby triumph over Rochdale.
They are up and running now and I hope it will boost the players’ confidence.
It is still early days while people reach full fitness. I know Paul Dickov loves his job and there is plenty of excitement when you become a manager.
He is doing very well on a shoestring budget and here’s hoping for a successful season.
ANOTHER manager hoping for a memorable campaign is Avro boss Phil Brown, who is a very good friend of mine. He has done wonders at the club and won everything there is to win, and they will be going all out for the title again in the Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League Premier Division.
